7 miles

I ran 7 miles on the treadmill today and it was good! There is really nothing exciting about doing this, because my normal runs are usually 6 miles and happen on the treadmill more often than I like, but it made me happy to do it. It's the beginning of the week and I'm hopeful to get back to regular mileage (30 miles) this week. The last 3 weeks have been bad for running so it's time to get back to normal.

Along with my 30 mile goal, I really want to do a long run this weekend. It's been way too long since that has happened too. I will be in BR this weekend for Lorelei's birthday party with the family so I should be able to get one in. By long run, I mean something in the double digits. At this point I'd be happy with just 10. I am signed up for a half in April and I'm planning on a 25k in May so getting ready for those are my focus. At this point I should be able to PR in both, I'm in much better shape than this time last year. I haven't really thought about time goals yet though.

I didn't eat anything too exciting today, except dinner. Breakfast was coffee and a banana with peanut butter on it. Lunch was leftovers from last night, and dinner was yummy! I made this Cauliflower and cheese recipe that I got from my sister in law. It's like mac and cheese but with no pasta, just cauliflower. So, it's good! I of course made some small changes to the recipe, but if you try it just make it as is. I had my "mac" with a big salad. Lots of cheese needs lots of greens.

Sriracha was very good on the cauliflower, it's one of our most used condiments.

We went shopping for party supplies for Lorelei's birthday. She wanted these fake flowers. It's her birthday so I guess she's the boss. And she's cute.

  1. I too would like to do a long run this weekend. However, am unsure when and if the weather will cooperate. It looks like the temps on Saturday would be amazing for a run, high of 52, but they are also saying showers. On the upside this is Michigan, so by this weekend that may have changed!
